i’m kicking off my coverage of new york fashion week s/s ’14 with the veronica beard presentation. the designers, veronica swanson beard and veronica miele beard were finalists in the cfda/vogue fashion fund earlier this year. despite its lean toward the youthful playfulness of the eighties, the collection featured some clean tailored pieces along with its fun prints and trippy colors. the nails, done by essie, featured subtle, monochromatic nail art, something interesting without detracting from the collection. lead manicurist, casey herman, used vested interest from the new fall collection, plus the matte top coat, matte about you. on top, she added a clear triangular design. to recreate the look, start with a gray-green nail polish, add a matte top coat, and then use a nail art brush and a clear polish or top coat to recreate the design.
