the nail art at the creatures of the wind ready-to-wear show, done by cnd, was a squiggly affair. the collection featured more restraint than has been seen in seasons past, but there was still a thread of moderate punk running throughout the collection in the flashes of vinyl and latex mixed in with grown up plaids and knits. like many of the collections showed at new york fashion week (and all the fashion weeks this season), there was a strong menswear trend with smart suits and trousers. the nails, however, reflected the playfulness missing in the collection, a hint of irreverence disguised in nail art that the clothes missed out on.
