chanel’s pre-fall 2013 show, paris to edimbourg took place at linlithgow palace in edinburgh, scotland. of the show, or maybe the atmosphere, lagerfeld likened it to “a barbarian romance.” the clothes were fitting even the harshest of scottish winters with chunky cable-knit sweaters and luxe thigh-skimming cardigans, along with collars worn nearly up to the ears. even the evening dresses were shown with tartan shawls or long coats, suitable for the frosty climate.
