the nail color at the chanel pre-fall 2012 show, called diwali, reflected the collection’s theme, from paris to bombay. there were indian-inspired garments, like saris and sandals, as well as a more colonial influence in the form of sharp tweed suits and evening dresses. the set was grandiose with guests seated at a long banquet table and a functional toy train bearing drinks down the center console (inaccessible to the guests; perhaps for the models who strutted past?)
